Word and deed

Praise the Lord, for he is good ! Yes, his goodness lasts forever. Psalm 118: 1

This year, as we watch our thanksgiving season, let us be thankful not only in word but in deed. Let our gratitude find expression in the determination to live a life more selfless and dedicated to Jesus Christ. When we sit around our tables loaded with sumptuous food, let's not forget that half of the world will go to bed hungry. While we enjoy the comfort of our comfortable homes, let's not forget that many people in other parts of the world do not have homes to go to.

When we enter our stylish cars, let's not forget that most people on the planet can not afford even a bike. In the Lord's Prayer mentioned in the sixth chapter of Matthew, we read : "Give us today our daily bread." The scriptures teach that the good things of this life are the gifts of God and that He is the giver of all our gifts. blessings. Thanksgiving ? Yes. Let us kneel and thank God for the blessings he has given us, both material and spiritual. They came from his hands.

Prayer for the day

You bring me such abundance, almighty God. Thinking of the day of thanksgiving, may my heart be entirely devoted to your Son, Jesus Christ, so that through him my life may show you my gratitude.
