You are the solution

Search the Scriptures

The angel of the Eternal appeared to him and said : “The Eternal is with you, brave hero ! “Ah! My lord, if the Eternal is with us, why has all this happened to us ? Where are all his wondrous deeds, which our fathers tell us when they say : "Did not the Eternal bring us out of Egypt ?" Now the Lord forsakes us and delivers us into the hands of Midian ! Judges 6.12-13

Why the disease ? Why death ? Why the war ? Why hate, injustice... ? Why these trials ? Why does this happen ? We have all asked ourselves at least one of these questions like Gideon.

His country, his family are going through an economic crisis, assassinations, violence. The insecurity is such that when the angel of God comes to visit him, he is not particularly sensitive to the title of hero that the latter bestows on him. The only cry that comes from him is : "Why did all this happen to us ?" He talks about this time when everything was better for him and for his family. Now it is as if God had abandoned them and delivered them into the hands of their adversaries.

The angel's reaction is amazing. He does not directly answer his "why", but he gives him the solution. And the solution is him : Gideon ! God commissions him to drive out the attackers and deliver his country and his family.

If the misfortune that fell on the Israelites is the consequence of their rejection of God and therefore of his protection, God in his infinite love wants to come to their aid and has chosen Gideon. He will give him all the strategy to obtain one of the most beautiful and brilliant victories for his nation.

Know that God does not want you to stand in defeat and shame, under the fire of the enemy. Your Father understands your "whys" and does not despise them. Not only does he want to get you out of your difficulties, but he will also make you an open book, a testimony of deliverance for those around you. You are also "God's" solution to the ills of this world. It's not pride, it's the call of God on your life. The only condition to achieve this is to obey God and faithfully apply his plan.

Do your best and he will do the impossible. Then your whys will turn into solutions, your tears into joy and your cries into praise.

Listen the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God wants to say. Is there anything God asks you to obey and trust Him for?

Praying is simple. Speak to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, I don't know everything and I don't have the answers to my why, but I am sure of one thing : you want to give me victory and make me an instrument of blessing. I pray that you enlighten me with your Word and your Spirit so that I may obtain victory for myself and for many. Amen."

Praise God

To praise God is to express our gratitude to him. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a time to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now, deepen what you have received. What can you put in place to apply what God has told you ? Write down concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"My God, thank you for your faithfulness and your unmerited grace. Yours is the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
