You only die once ?

It is reserved for men to die only once, after which comes judgment. Hebrews 9. 27

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8.1

You only die once ?

"You only die once, but the causes of death can be multiple." It is obvious...

Man is born in the world, lives there for a while, then dies never to live again on earth. He dies once, and his body returns to dust. He dies because of old age, illness, accident, violence suffered, etc. The causes are multiple.

Yet the Bible speaks of one cause. For God, the cause of our death is sin : "Death has spread to all men, because all have sinned" (Romans 5. 12). Death on earth is the separation of body and spirit. spirit, which returns to God (Ecclesiastes 12:7). All the dead will be raised one day, but not at the same time, nor for the same purpose.

- Those who believed in the work of Jesus on the cross are delivered by the grace of God from the consequences of their faults. They will not be condemned, because Jesus suffered the judgment for them. They will be resurrected when Jesus returns to take all believers to heaven. They will be in the presence of God forever (1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17). Then the spirit will be reunited with the body again, a new spiritual body.

- Unbelievers will be resurrected to stand for judgment before God. They will be condemned to eternal estrangement from God: this is the terrible reality of the second death.

"For the wages of sin is death ; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23) - Today, seize life !
