You will be like him

"... we will be like him." 1 John 3.2

That the parents of each handicapped child write these words on the wall of his room. Let the infirm, the sick, and the bed-ridden fall asleep with this promise. That amputees and atrophies take it to heart : "You will be like him". You will rise from this form of life to be like him. You will have a spiritual body.

You will rise from this form of life to be like him.

In your present state, your perishable flesh fights your undying spirit. Your eyes are watching what they should not. Your taste buds are calling for unhealthy beverages. Your heart knows that you should not worry, but your brain is still worried.

Do you say as Paul confesses : "I take pleasure in the law of God, in my strong inner, but I see in my members another law, which fights against the law of my intelligence and which makes me captive of the law of the sin that is in my limbs." Romans 7.22-23 ?

In heaven, your "members" will never be rebellious again. Your new body will be spiritual, and each member will cooperate for one purpose.

A woman, wheelchair-bound since she was seventeen, said : "I can not wait to put on the habit of justice without a trace of sin, it's true, it will be wonderful to stand up and straighten up. hands up to the sky, but even more to offer pure praise I will no longer be paralyzed by distractions, held by duplicity I will no longer be handicapped by a hard heart My heart will join others to overflow with We will finally be in full agreement with the Father and the Son, for me it will be the best of heaven."

A prayer for today

"Lord be praised today for this day when we will be like you".
