You will not be condemned !

"Therefore now there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Romans 8. 1

Consciously or not, says Mark Batterson, most human beings are held hostages to their past, unable to erase their guilt over one or two mistakes made long ago. A secret, unconfessed sin keeps them in their solitary confinement. They define their present and future life based on what they have done and which they cannot let go of. Child of God, what defines your life is what Jesus did right and not what you did wrong ! Consider the fate of the people of Israel : enslaved for 400 years in Egypt, God set them free in one day, but their journey to true freedom lasted 40 years ! Although free, they continued to behave like slaves during all their years of wandering in the desert, until one day they arrived in Gilgal, which is, did you know, just over 600 km from the border with Egypt. God declared to them on the day that they reached this place : “This day have I rolled away the shame of Egypt from you” (Joshua 5. 9). 40 years and 600 kilometers to finally abandon their slave past ! How much time in our life do we spend trying to exorcise our demons, shaking off the shame of our sins and our guilt ? Know that God can “roll away from you” the dishonor of your past. Gilgal is the place where the people shed their past and bad habits, symbolized by circumcision, before entering the Promised Land. God is able to set you free in an instant, but deep down to accept that there is no condemnation "for those who are in Christ Jesus" can take years ! Think about it today.
