"Your papers please"

"I am to my beloved and his desire is toward me." Song of Songs 7.11

God had no identity problems.

He knew very well who he was! In his Word, he says : "I am who I am." Exodus 3.14

Not only does God know who he is, but he also wants to ensure his men :

"I AM the Lord who heals you." Exodus 15:26

"I AM your liberator." Psalm 18.3

"I AM the good shepherd." John 10:11

"I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end." Revelation 22:13 etc.

And have you ever gone through one of those times when you feel like you do not know who you really are ? To do too many things, to be involved in too many projects ? In those moments, you no longer know who you really are or what you really need to do ...

Your identity is based on Christ and nothing else.

Your identity and role are often defined by the context in which you find yourself.

For example, at work you are an assistant manager, employee, manager, nurse or other. At home you are a parent, a spouse, a student preparing to graduate in a few days.

But here, the important thing is not what you do but who you are, who you truly are.

This truth is found in the Word of God : "I AM to my beloved and his desire is toward me" ...

Receive these words as the truth that will guide your actions, decisions and reactions. You do not act according to what others think or context, but according to who is God and what His Word declares about you.

You are unique. Precious (se). You belong to Christ. He redeemed you with his blood, his life. You are his (her) beloved and your identity is based on him and nothing else.

A prayer for today

"Lord, you are the great "I am". In you, I find my identity fully : I AM to you. I am your child. I am precious. That's all I need to know today. Help me do what I have to do by keeping this truth in mind. Thank you Jesus. Amen."
