A fight of great value

"Fight the good fight of faith, seize the eternal life to which you were called, and for which you made a beautiful confession in the presence of a large number of witnesses." 1 Timothy 6.12

I must tell you the truth. When you give your life to the Lord, it does not instantly become a bed of roses. Blessings will not fall on you as ripe cherries fall from a tree.

In Jesus Christ we have already won the fight of faith.

Faith is a fight! Paul told Timothy that the fight of faith was good. The word good in 1 Timothy 6.12 means beautiful and of great value. The fight of faith is a beautiful and valuable fight !

Paul also told Timothy to "seize eternal life". In other words, get hold of it! You must make the decision to live the kind of life God wants for you in this world and in the world to come.

Note also that Paul refers to the power of the profession (or confession) in this verse. The beautiful fight of faith declares in the middle of a battle : "I will not sit in silence, I will declare the Word of God !"

The world would like Christians to lose this fight by forfeiting ; He wants the believers to stay in the church and keep their mouths shut, but we are called to fight the good fight. This is a good and beautiful fight because in Jesus Christ we have already won.

An action for today

Make the decision to fight the beautiful fight of faith ! Do not sit in silence as the world sinks into despair. Be the one who declares : "Jesus is Lord" to the glory of God !
