Always in a hurry, but never in a hurry

This is what the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, said : Return to me and rest will be your salvation ; calm and confidence will be your strength, but you didn't want it ! Isaiah 30.15

Founder of the Protestant Methodist Church, English pastor John Wesley is an 18th century figure. It has been calculated that he traveled 360,000 km on foot or on horseback to preach the Gospel, or nine times around the earth. He preached 50,000 sermons and wrote 40,000 texts. How did he live such a hectic life ? He gives us his secret in this text : "Even if I am always in a hurry, I am never in a hurry, because when I undertake a job, it is only on the sole condition of being able to accomplish it with great peace of mind. "

How can you be sure that you are doing a job with great peace of mind? God promises us, too, this peace of mind, peace of mind, inner calm, and the moral strength of a clear conscience. We receive this peace through his Son Jesus, who said : “I leave you in peace, I give you my peace. I am not giving it to you as the world gives. May your heart not be troubled or be frightened." (John 14.27)

Do we want to receive this peace ? Do we want to live according to the mind of God ? Let us offer our life to him and receive the peace, tranquility, rest and confidence that comes from his salvation and strength.
