Before drinking the cup !
Matthew 14.30 - But when he noticed how strong the wind was blowing, he got scared and, as he began to sink, he cried : “Help ! Lord” (Sower).
Peter had the right reflex. He was walking on the water but fear made him doubt and as he started to drown he cried out for help to the Lord.
If you immerse a frog in boiling water, it will run away very quickly. But if you immerse it in cold water and gradually increase the temperature, it will stay there until it dies. We too can accept unhealthy environments that will gradually sink us without our realizing it. This is why we must constantly watch and be on our guard.
1 Corinthians 10:12 tells us : "So therefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall !". The greatest danger is that the devil puts us to sleep and lulls us into illusions. Let the Holy Spirit search us and warn us. Regular questioning and analysis of our "ways" is very important, otherwise we will be blind to our spiritual condition and in danger of falling. After this examination, if we realize that we are deviating or sinking, cry out for help from the Lord who can help us out of any trial.
My beloved, the Holy Spirit calls by the mouth of both the Church to wake up and to rise up. If He challenges us in this way, it is because many are ignorant that they are sleeping. Do not wait until we “drink the cup” to cry out to our God : “Lord, hold me up, come to my aid and open my eyes to my spiritual state”.
Good reflection.
