Be persevering like bamboo !

"You indeed need perseverance, that after you have fulfilled the will of God, you will obtain what is promised to you." Hebrews 10.36

Did you know that Walt Disney, before the success that is known to him today, was sent back by the editor of a newspaper because it "lacked imagination and had no good Ideas " ?

Even if nothing comes out of the earth, rest assured that God sees your efforts, your constancy and works for your good behind the scenes ...

Or that Harrison Ford, following a role in a small film, was heard say that he "would never succeed in the film industry" ?

Why am I talking about this ?

You see, life can hold us surprises : we can believe (or make us believe) that we will never arrive at anything, and yet ... The future then reveals that it was possible !

You can experience difficult seasons in your life, seasons where nothing advances, where YOU do not advance. You then have the impression that the dream that you had will never be realized ...

The secret is perseverance. Even if you think stagnate because your growth is not visible, especially do not relax your efforts. In reality, your "roots" grow. Your relationship with God and your trust in him grow.

It's a bit like growing bamboo.

This plant can reach up to 40 meters high, you see.

Impressive, is not it ?

However, the first 6 years of its existence, nothing comes out of the earth. Yes, you read well : nothing happens. One could say of him that "will never give anything good."

But during this time, the roots of bamboo grow in secret ...

Then, in the seventh year a bud appears. From this moment, its growth is spectacular and can reach 1 meter per day.

What is your relationship with you ?

Even if nothing comes out of the earth, be assured that God sees your efforts, your constancy and works for your good in the very backstage of your existence. By faith and perseverance, you will enter the inheritance that has been promised to you.

A prayer for today

"Lord, it is you who shape and prepare me with patience and love. Even though I do not yet see the fruit of what I have sown, I believe that one day it will happen. I am assured of your support so that one day I will enter my inheritance. In the name of Jesus. Amen."
