Who am I ?

"King David entered and sat before the LORD, and said : " Who am I, O Lord GOD ! And what is my house, that thou hast brought me here? And yet it was little in your sight, O Lord GOD ! And thou hast spoken of the house of thy servant for a long time. Is this the manner of man, Lord GOD ? And David, what more could he tell you ?  And you, O Lord God, know your servant." 2 Samuel 7. 18-20

Who am I among the 7.5 billion human beings who live on earth today to have clothes on me, a roof over my head and a place to sleep ?

Who am I to get up this morning in good health and have something to eat today ?

Who am I to move as I see fit and express myself freely in my country ?

Who am I to have been educated and to have learned a trade ?

Maybe I'm not in that ideal situation. But I can always ask myself :

Who am I that God, the Creator, should take an interest in me on this earth among the ten thousand billion billions of stars that inhabit the universe ?

Who am I for God to reveal to me through a book (the Bible) all that I need to know to know Him and know Him ?

Who am I that God sent his only begotten Son into the world to bring me to him ?

Who am I for God to love me as if I were the only one to love ?

Who am I that God may call me his child and give me brothers and sisters united in one faith ?

Who am I that God should do me the honor to serve him ?

Who am I that God should make for me to share the glory of his Son for eternity ?

What more can be said ? I know that whatever may be my circumstances, I am the object of the love of God and of his Son "who loved me and gave himself up for me" (Galatians 2:20).
