Cultivate the authentic

"This is why the authorities in heavenly places today know by the Church the infinitely varied wisdom of God." Ephesians 3.10

We all know this famous phrase of Marcel Pagnol in his novel "Jean de Florette" : "I am interested only in what is true, sincere, pure, wide, in one word, the authentic, and I came here to cultivate the authentic ".

"God does not make copies, he makes originals."

God loves originality, truth, authenticity ! Do you know that of the 7 billion people on this earth, none have the same fingerprints ? Do you know that of the billions and billions of stars, there is none that looks like another ? Do you know that of the billions of snowflakes that fall each year, there is none that looks like another ? All creation bears witness to this divine originality.

God does not make copies, he only makes originals ! That is why we must be careful to cultivate authenticity, to be ourselves.

Biographies of one or the other, can inspire you, motivate you, stimulate you, encourage you, but never make you clones. In the realm of Christian activities, some people may be content with trying to do what they saw again, but sometimes so awkwardly that it becomes ridiculous. The Church is the work of God and our God loves to cultivate authenticity in each of us. Today, through the Church, that is, through each one of us, God wants to bear witness to His infinitely varied wisdom. Aspire to be an original work of God.

Your service, your activity, need not be a pale imitation of the service and activity of others; it must be an expression of your personal and special relationship with God.

Some artists have created real masterpieces that are invaluable ! Many copies may exist but they are worthless. God does not make copies, he makes originals. God wants to use each of your lives and bring you into activities where the mark of diversity will be inscribed.

It is true that the magicians of Egypt have been able to repeat certain things as Moses had done, but imitation has its limits ; finally the serpent of Moses has engulfed the serpents of the magicians. In the book of Acts we are told of some of the sons of Sceva who wanted to imitate the Apostle Paul and who were ridiculed (Acts 19: 13-16).

A prayer for today

Lord, I want to enter the particular works that you have prepared for me. I want to stop comparing myself to others. Thank you for what you have done to me, I want to grow in the authenticity and the specific fulfillment of what you have prepared for me (Ephesians 2:10).
