Despise, or love different people ?

James will say in his epistle : "My brothers and sisters, may your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ be free from all favoritism. Suppose, indeed, that there is a man in your assembly wearing a gold ring and sumptuous clothes, and also a poor man with dirty clothes. If you turn your eyes to the one who wears the sumptuous clothes to say to him : You, sit here in this place of honor and say to the poor : You, stand here standing or well : Sit down on the ground at my feet do you not make a distinction in yourself, and do not you become judges of bad reasoning ? Listen, my beloved brothers and sisters: has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to make them rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom he has promised to those whom he has like ? And you, despise the poor ! Is it not the rich who oppress you and treat you in court ?" (James 2:1-6)

It is surprising to see that Christians are so often devoid of all compassion for different people. They are the exact copy of the Levite and the priest who despised the man lying in the ditch. Without heart, without love. Has not the Lord poured out his love into our hearts to express it to these people ? That's what he did. So, we have to change and start acting differently and helping.

Jesus said on this subject : "When you organize a dinner or a supper, do not invite your friends, your brothers, your parents or rich neighbors, lest they invite you in turn to to return the favor. When you organize a feast, invite on the contrary poor, crippled, lame, blind, and you will be happy, because they can not return the favor. Indeed, it will be returned to the resurrection of the righteous" (Luke 14:12-14). Oh what a wonderful promise ! A transsexual man once said to me : "Have you ever hosted or invited a poor man ?". If it is sometimes difficult, because of our family and our children, to invite strangers to our home, we can offer them food and pay them accommodation when we are headed in this way.
