Do everything for Jesus !
Colossians 3:17 - And whatever you do, word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
There are verses in the Word of God which are, how to say : our leitmotif. Not you ? But how do you appropriate this verse ? By imposing a law on us ? No, I don't believe that would cause us to do everything like the Lord did. Then how ?
When we love a person, all the actions we take, the words we say are likely to uplift that person, to make them happy. Likewise, when we become lovers, lovers of our Lord, our first desire is to rejoice his heart, to lift him up. Does that mean I won't miss out. No, unfortunately, no ! Paul said moreover : "For I do not do the good that I want, and I do the evil that I do not want" (Romans 7:19). However, her heart still wanted more to rejoice the heart of her Lord and Savior !
The Spirit of God, moreover, does not fail to attest in our hearts this joy that the Lord feels, but He also knows how to show us when He is saddened. Our problem is that too often we close our ears to the voice of the Holy Spirit because we do not want to hear what He is telling us and so day after day we close our heart and it hardens. There are some of our behaviors that we indulge in, but if we stop for a moment and just think about it : “Father, is your heart in joy ?".
It is not enough for us to sing "I love you Lord" on Sunday mornings and throughout the week pretending He is not part of our life. Love is lived and made every day and in any place, be it at school, at work, at home, in the store, well... everywhere ! If your wife or husband told you in front of the whole world that he or she loves you and that at home he or she was making you go through hell, wouldn't you find those words lacking in resonance ?
Let us take the time to meditate and place ourselves before God, He loves to give us grace and desires more than anything to find the way back to our heart, day after day.
Be abundantly blessed.
