Do not complicate what is simple

"God speaks, however, sometimes in one way, sometimes in another, and we do not take care." Job 33.14

As a young Christian, I had a "mystical period", during which I was a little too literal in my reading of some books on the spiritual and miraculous dimension. For example, I thought that my wife would be dark and that she would come from a certain town in France ... I had conceived a very specific scenario, which I had presented to my Christian friends as a Divine revelation.

How does God lead your life ?

So, when I met a blonde who liked me and came from a different region, I realized that it was not God who had spoken ... it was Éric Célérier who spoke to He himself !

My heart began to beat for Muriel. But since I had a call to serve God full-time (funny expression, since we are all called to serve God), it was necessary at all costs that my future wife received a call from pastor's wife. That was the rule ! Even though Muriel felt a call to serve God, the pastorate was not his specific call.

So we decided not to see each other until God showed us his will. This separation lasted eleven months, without a meeting, without a phone call. We were sincere, but I must admit that my vision of things was far too "spiritualized" !

Sometimes we complicate things simple. I wholeheartedly believe in the divine conduct in our lives, and I have experienced it over and over again. It is very important to follow the direction of God. But it is equally essential to apprehend things simply, believing that God directs the circumstances very well. I never regretted having married Muriel. We have three wonderful children, and the adventures we live together are beyond what we could have imagined.

How does God lead your life ? By speaking to you by His Word, by leading your circumstances and giving you His peace !

Has it ever happened to you to complicate your life because you wanted to spiritualize things too much ? Just look at it. God leads your life ! Let him flood you with his peace.
