Do not let fear stop you

"Keep alive the gift that God has given you." 2 Timothy 1.6

Do not be afraid to use your talents and skills.

One Christian writer said : "God wants us to make the most of what He gives us, to keep a burning heart, to develop our personality and to enrich our experience to be ever more effective."

Demand the best of yourself.

Paul told the Philippians : "May your love abound more and more in knowledge and true sensitivity." Philippians 1.9

And he said to Timothy : "Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by the prophecy, [...] Apply and be whole to this task." 1 Timothy 4: 14-15 "Keep alive the gift that God has given you." 2 Timothy 1.6

If we do not use our muscles, they weaken and atrophy : the same goes for the skills that God gives us.

Jesus said of the servant who, out of fear, had buried his talent : "Take away from him the talent, and give it to him who has the ten talents." Matthew 25.28

Do not be afraid. Make your abilities and gifts work and you will see that in practice they will grow even bigger.

Nobody can blossom fully overnight. But by studying, practicing and listening, a good teacher can become an excellent teacher over time.

Demand the best of yourself. Learn all you can. "Strive to be worthy of approval in the sight of God, as a workman who does not have to be ashamed of his work." 2 Timothy 2.15

A word for today

Remember that in heaven we will serve God forever, and we are here to prepare for it. Like athletes training for the Olympic Games, we are preparing for the big day.
