Fire !

Matthew 3.11 - He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

Fire has several characteristics, we are going to list some of them :

. The fire heats up : even though it is very cold outside, approach a fire and you can feel its heat.

. Fire purifies : to purify gold, it is passed through fire to remove all imperfections so that it becomes pure gold.

. Fire scares animals : set fire to a jungle, the most ferocious beasts will flee. Set a house on fire, the little mice will run away too.

. The fire spreads fast : set fire to one place, if you approach anything near this fire it will catch fire too...

Pentecost is, for us Christians, the opportunity to plunge back into this upper room where suddenly everything became possible because the fire of God was manifested to men. On this day, many gatherings take place and it is an opportunity for many to meet brothers and sisters to experience an intense moment. However, my friends, if you will, I would like us to take the time to meditate on Pentecost but not wait until this day to experience something new in the presence of the Lord. In Jesus, access to our Father is possible at all times and his desire is to impart fire to us, wherever we are.

The Lord wishes to communicate to us this fire which warms our hearts which have become so cold with time, the trials, perhaps even because of the sin which envelops us all so easily. He wants to purify our heart and remove all that hinders the life of God in us, to make us pure because those who have a pure heart will see God ! (Matthew 5.8). He wants to scare away all these bad thoughts that come to overwhelm us but also all the evil spirits that make war on us! He wants the fire that he is going to deposit in us to spread as soon as we approach the people that he will place in our path.

Do we want this fire ?

We often imagine that the fire will bring excesses, cries, demonstrations of all kinds. It is possible, however, it is not the protests that we should stop or believe in. Indeed, even though we feel that nothing is happening, God is moving. It is the Word of God that we must believe and as our verse of the day says : "He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire". This is his promise and if we desire this fire to burn in us, He will fulfill it. So let's claim this fire now !

Be filled with this fire.
