Give a hand

He took her by the hand and said to her : "Talitha koumi", which means : Young girl, get up. Mark 5.41

I don't remember where I got this story from, written by a certain Philippe, but I liked it :

“A man fell into a hole and hurt himself !

A Cartesian leaned down and said : "You're not rational, you should have seen that hole."

A believer, seeing him, said : “You must have committed some sin.”

A reporter interviewed him about his pain.

A yogi assured him that the hole, like his pains, was only in his head.

A doctor threw him some aspirins.

An optimist said to him : “You could have broken your leg.”

A pessimist added : "You may be in more and more pain anyway."

But a child walked by and held out his hand to him. "

The child par excellence was God who came among us. At the 12-year-old girl who died, he grabbed her hand and lifted her up.

To the apostle Peter, in the process of sinking, he did not reproach his lack of faith, until he stretched out his hand and grabbed it.

What can a man who is spiritually dead in his sins do, the believer who sinks into doubt, the one who is at the bottom of the hole and does not have the strength to come out ?

Nothing better than to seize the hand that God extends to him to restore him to life or to lift him up. It is in this that, coming to us, he took the name of Jesus, which means "Savior".
