"Why is my wound incurable ? Would you like to me a misleading source ? "(Jeremiah 15:18).

 

Why suffering ? The prophet Jeremiah, there are nearly three thousand years already asked this question. Is it not also the question facing all men on this earth ? Those who believe in God will even ask, "Why, if God is good, he allows suffering? Why, if he is all powerful, does not stop there no war ? Why allow that innocent children are dying of hunger, are born disabled ... ".
 
On a more personal way some say "Why has he allowed it to happen to me ? What have I done to God ? "We could multiply endlessly the whys and yet have no satisfactory answer. In all humility we must recognize that we have no absolute answer to our why. Suffering is certainly a direct result of the fall, but it remains mysterious part. We have, in previous days, tried to give some answers to why, but it may be that we still stayed on our questions.
Suffering has spilled much ink. I like what Academician Paul Claudel wrote about this : "God did not come to remove the suffering, it is not even come to explain it, he came to fill it with his presence . "
To our unanswered why, God responds with "for what ? "For what purpose, for what purpose, to bring us where, to do what in our lives and in the lives of others through our lives ? So instead of throwing incessant why skyward, look to our heart and ask ourselves this question : For what ?
What do you want me to learn the Lord ? What do you want me ? What lesson can I learn from these negative and painful circumstances ? What can I do in this pain constructive way ?

A tip for today :

Never forget that God also shares our suffering, he is with us, beside us, that's what David declared : "When I walk through the valley and shadow of death, you are with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort me "(Psalm 23.4).
