"And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also" (2 Timothy 2.2).
We've all heard the expression : "After me, the deluge." It means : "I do not care what will happen after me, even if it is a disaster." There is a big part of cynicism in this expression. Such an attitude is the opposite of what a successful life.
Successful life, not only achieve the goals that God has for us, but also, have managed to convey that we received from him. Indeed, there can be no successful life without the transmission of the spiritual heritage.
The transmission is in the divine plan. We see this concern with Abraham in Genesis 24.1 / 5. We meet this requirement in the law of Moses, which says to pass this law to children (Deuteronomy 6.7). We find this concern in the vision that the apostle Paul to his service, and how it envisages that transmission continues through the message he sent to his spiritual son, Timothy.
The vision of the transmission is favorable to the growth of God's work, and therefore to the success of the overall project of God. The success according to God's heart embraces the spiritual blessing that we leave behind us.
The success of the patriarch Joseph goes beyond its own ascension, it exceeds even the most extraordinary dreams, it also encloses the salvation of the whole family of Jacob.
The success of Esther beyond his elevation to the title of queen of the Persians, it also contains the issuing of all the Jewish people.
Christ of success is not only his exaltation at the right hand of the Father, but he became the author of a great salvation for all men.
We could multiply examples by talking about all those mentioned in the Bible, and we arrive at the same conclusion : A successful life is also measured by the spiritual heritage that the person leaves behind.
Some forget that the success of great men of God is due to the success of those who preceded them by bringing them to the Lord. Suzana Wesley, who had nineteen children, led his children to faith, and several of them were in the service of God, the best known is John Wesley. This woman lived for many sorrows and hardships, but the success of his life was to transmit the heritage of faith.
A question for today :
What message, what example of faith, what spiritual legacy will you leave behind ? A successful life includes such transmission, God wants to help you.
