"The stones of the pit" (Esaïe14.19).

 

One way to drain a very moist, is to dig quite deep pit, which is filled with large stones. By means of facts on the ground drains, water flows toward the pit and from there goes into the more sandy layers that lie beneath the topsoil. This pit door sump name.

Just yesterday, I had to redo the drain which was around a wall of my house. It turns out that this drain was poorly done. There were no stones in the bottom of the drain, but only gravel mixed with soil. So that the drain work, it is beautiful stones piled on each other and one beside the other, along the entire length of the drain. These stones allow runoff to flow easily and thus remove the excess moisture, harmful to both buildings as cultures. With drainage, foundations of a house are protected and become cultivable wasteland. In the early twentieth century, the lands purchased by the first Jewish immigrants in Palestine, were marshy. They could make them cultivable thanks to great works of drainage.

Although water is essential to irrigation land, if the land is not sufficiently filter the excess water makes the land unusable swamps. The drainage will help to make these muddy soil farmland. The stones used to drain these wetlands become a source of blessing for the land.
These stones could say, "Assemble yourselves, become channels eliminating all these excesses that make some marshy ground."
In our society, where the filth invades not only some neighborhoods, but also many lives have we not a sanitation role ?

This role will be carried out if all the living stones resemble each other, form networks, and channel the excess to these well-filled filter stones. The stones on the surface can not fulfill this work, they must be placed in drains and therefore hidden from the eyes of the beholder field. Their role is very important, but it is hidden ! As living stones, our remediation work can lead us to die to ourselves, to walk humbly, not to be seen, but who cares ! The key is not it that the successful work of God where there is only mud and swamps ?

Lord, I am close to my brothers and sisters, so that together we formed a sanitation network where thou hast placed. Amen !
