"The stone comes back on him who runs" (Proverbs 26.27).

Homer describes what the torture of Sisyphus: he was condemned to roll a huge stone up to the top of a mountain, and when he was about to reach the top, then the mass dragged, and the huge rock rolled to the bottom.

And he began again, again and again, indefinitely.

Sometimes we forget the boomerang effect of our actions or our words.

Wanting to manipulate others, to want to roll one day or the other, it means we face. Our actions are not without consequences, they produce reactions that can sometimes turn against us.

Having had an argument with one of his neighboring farmers, a young man went on to sow the sown field of his neighbor wheat from the chaff.

The field was infested with the wrong plant and wheat was totally devastated. The young man laughed, seeing it and was satisfied with his revenge. A few years later, this young man fell in love with the daughter of the farmer.

On the wedding day, the stepfather offered to this young man became his son-in that field.

For weeks and months, he had, himself, pull the weeds he had sown. The stone comes back on him who roll!

You reap what you sow.

If you sow discord (another name from the chaff) you will one day either caught by discord, it will turn against you.

If you sow bitterness or slander, do not expect to reap joy.

If you run over your head stone, expect to see them fall on you!

After "rolled" his brother Esau, Jacob was in turn "rolled" by his uncle Laban.

Emphasize also that for Homer Sisyphus, the problem was that the stone was heavy. If he had to get to the top of the mountain, a roller that is put in a bag, it would not have been difficult.

But he had to roll a stone was heavy, and even seemed to become more and more heavy, as and as he ascended.

Do not try to carry loads that exceed your forces.

They might roll over you and crush you. Acknowledge your own limitations.

Some burdens to be evacuated, require the combined effort of several arms.

Work in collaboration and communion.

My prayer on this day:

Lord, knowing that what I will do or say today will have consequences for my own life, and the lives of those around me, I beg you to give me the wisdom to guide my words and actions.

I also want to learn to share my burdens and bear the burdens of others. Amen! Paul Calzada
