Go with the strength you have, I will be with you !

Search the Scriptures

The Eternal turned to him, and said, Go with the strength that thou hast, and deliver Israel out of the hand of Midian ; am I not the one who sent you ? Judges 6.14.

The confidence, even the confession that follows, I heard it one day when I was visiting an old friend tired of life. I listened to her without interrupting her. Having received through him a word from God, I transcribe, with his authorization, his experience, as faithfully as my memory allows me :

Seven o'clock... The alarm clock rings. Have to get up. She sighs. In front of her stretches the grayness of the day similar to that of yesterday, and that of the next day, probably: the "starting up" of the morning, lunch, the metro, the large registers with long columns of figures...

No, she doesn't have the courage. A friend gave him a recipe : repeat ten times, twenty times : "it's going well, it's going very well..." Definitely, this Coué method does not bring him anything. Too bad, she turns over in her bed, the effort is for later ; now she can only express her discouragement to God...

And suddenly comes back to her, the Lord's answer to Gideon : "Go with this strength that you have." I know, this force is weak, but it exists, and the Almighty Lord will support it. He promised it. Suddenly, she gets up and goes forward.

From now on, every morning, she receives the order which carries within itself the strength to carry it out :

The Eternal turned to him, and said, Go with the strength that thou hast, and deliver Israel out of the hand of Midian ; am I not the one who sent you ?

Listen the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God wants to say. Perhaps you find yourself in this testimony, let the Holy Spirit speak to your weary, weary soul.

Praying is simply talking to God. Your Heavenly Father loves you and He can hear everything. Here is a sample prayer to help you : “Lord, I rejoice in my weaknesses, for it is when I am weak that I am strong. you."
