"How great are your works, O LORD, how deep are your thoughts !" Psalm 92: 6
Jesus was a leader in all that this word could mean : he dared to do things that no one would have dared to do. He often acted astonishingly, not letting himself be trapped by the habits and customs of his time or culture. This shows us that God loves to act by being fully led by his heart.
God loves you and he will never do anything to hurt you.
The most beautiful illustration is that of the story of the prodigal son: she tells us, while the son returns to his father after having squandered all his inheritance, that this father sees him from a distance, "runs to meet his child throws himself on his neck and kisses her for a long time." (Luke 15.20)
This father does something surprising for the time : he raises his tunic on his legs to run to his son. This father dares to brave the social codes of the time : indeed, it was not worthy for a man of this rank, to raise his tunic and thus show his legs. He was even less worthy to run to a son who had squandered the inheritance! But love has been stronger than social codes.
Another time, it is Jesus who acts surprisingly, when healing at the pool of Bethesda (John 5.6): The "procedure" classic, if I may say, was :
• An angel was waving the water,
• The patient went down to the pool,
• The patient was cured.
And what does Jesus do ? He heals this man. How ? By ordering him to get up, take his bed and walk. Jesus did not hesitate to leave the beaten path, the schema established to heal a man.
Do you think God can act in your life ? Are you ready to trust him completely ? To the point of giving him carte blanche on the "how" he will proceed ?
An action for today
God loves you and he will never do anything to hurt you. If you want to see the situation that makes you better, I invite you to trust God completely.
