In the School of God (2) The room of roadworks pratice (T.P.)

"There was in Joppa a woman called Tabitha - which translates : Dorcas - who abounded in good works and alms." Acts 9. 36

At the school of God, formation does not consist only in theoretical lessons to teach the truth. Learning also involves manual exercises. Today we are entering the practice room. Not all students learn to sew, not all of them learn how to plan a plank, repair an engine, or use a computer, but Teacher demands that everyone "hand in hand".

The Master himself was a carpenter at Nazareth. Like any other carpenter at the time, he built ceilings, doors and windows. He also made beds, chairs, tables and stools. He also produced instruments for cultivating the soil, plows, pickaxes, flails for beating wheat. Among his tools were the pencil, the chord to be measured, the compass, the ax, the chisel, the saw, the drill, the mallet, the hammer, the files and the punches. As it seems today, he was the man to do everything.

It is not only to announce the Gospel or to teach the Word of God, but also to clean up week after week, sometimes for years, a meeting room, to search for a believer every week after week. can not go alone to the church, give a helping hand to a neighbor who is moving, make a correspondence with a person who can no longer write, wash clothes for a tired or ill mother, bring meals at home, to help a brother who has "planted" with his computer, etc. The list is long !

Peter and other disciples were fishermen, Paul made tents, Dorcas, the friend and benefactress of the poor whom Peter raised up, was a seamstress (verse of the day). Phoebe, a servant of the assembly at Cenchrea, came to the aid of many persons, doubtless also to strangers. Gaius, a spiritual son of the Apostle John, opened his house to those who had gone to proclaim the Gospel. He offered his generous hospitality, not only to those he knew, but also to strangers.

At the school of God, the range of T.P. is so wide that each student finds interest and utility, and much joy.
