Inner healing and forgiveness

"From the womb I was in your care..." Psalm 22.11

The definition of the Larousse encyclopedia of the subconscious is : "Psychic state whose subject is not aware, but which influences its behavior". This notion of the subconscious is relatively recent in the field of psychology. Some causes of psychic suffering would be buried in this subconscious. The elements buried in the subconscious can go back not only to infancy, but also to the gestation period ; why not ? The psalmist rightly indicates that even at the time of this gestation he was under divine protection.

"How is it possible to find healing from these buried wounds in the subconscious ?"

That some wounds are buried in this subconscious, why not? However, research done by pseudo therapists presents enormous dangers. They can produce false memories, induced memories, which will aggravate the psychic health of the person who puts himself in their hands. Introspection, used by these manipulative gurus, leads to the depreciation of oneself, to the demonization of family and social bonds, to alienation.

How is it possible to find the healing of these wounds buried in the subconscious ? Should we absolutely identify them ? The answer is in this beautiful prayer of David : "Who knows his mistakes, forgive me those I do not know" (Psalm 19: 13). Believe that the Lord is able to heal even the deepest wounds, even if you do not know the cause.

We do not have to take the place of the Holy Spirit. We pray for those who suffer, and we trust the Holy Spirit to bring Himself to the surface, if necessary, which is essential for healing. Prayer must be free from manipulation or influence. Excessive introspection, inviting the patient to go digging in his infancy, or even into the gestation period, has nothing to do with the miracle of inner healing that comes from the liberating action of the Holy Spirit. This action frees people, making them more human, more sociable, more fulfilled.

When we read the story of Jesus' encounter with the Samaritan woman, the Lord brings to the surface a whole hidden part of this woman's life : "You were right to say I have no husband because you had five husbands, and the one you have now is not your husband" (John 4: 17-18). Jesus brings to the surface, just what is necessary, to lead this woman to a liberation concerning the guilt of her past on her soul.

The Holy Spirit is a gentleman, not a guru. It does not affect our freedom.

A prayer for today

Lord, I trust you completely to heal my soul from all its wounds, including those whose cause I do not know. Amen !
