Jesus reveals himself even within the storm

"Revelation of Jesus Christ ..." Revelation 1.1

In the first century, the island of Patmos served as a banishment for criminals. Rome also sent the people whom she distrusted. While the apostle John, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was very old, he was deported to that island in the year 95 by the Emperor Domitian.

Even as a Christian, you will not be spared from tribulation !

Funny end for a man who devoted his life to the cause of Christ. John was exiled and certainly forced into forced labor. What a tempest for an old man ! Yet in the midst of his trial he received a powerful revelation from the glorified Jesus : "His head and his hair were white as white wool, his eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like brass As if it had been burned in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of many waters : in his right hand he had seven stars, and a sharp, two-edged sword out of his mouth, Sun when it shines in its strength." (Revelation 1: 14-16).

What Grace ! In the ordeal that the apostle was passing through, the Messiah revealed himself to him with strength and power. Do you think that the Lord is able to give you a fresh revelation of his person ? Believe it! Even if you are in "Patmos", the presence of God can manifest itself within your life.

When it rains, it rains over everyone ... Even as a Christian, you will not be spared by tribulations! However, keep courage, for the Lord is near you, ready to reveal Himself in order to strengthen you.

A prayer for today

Lord, I believe that even within my trial you are able to reveal yourself to me in a powerful way to restore me courage. Blessed be thy name. Amen.
