Let's talk about worship

“Your bridegroom is he who made you, and his name is the Eternal, the master of the universe ; he who redeems you is the Holy One of Israel, and he is called God of all the earth. ” Isaiah 54. 5

Worship is the ability to express and live our love and reverence to the Lord God, our creator, the father of each and every one. Now, the Christian should not be stingy in worship ; it is about his position in front of God. There are many in the world and around us who think that there is no doubt that God exists, in one form or another, under one name or another. But that doesn't make all of these people worshipers. And even the Christian may not be a true worshiper. He can talk about his attachment to God, even his admiration, and stop there. He can see God as a valid concept, as a teacher to listen to, as an idea to follow ; but to be seduced by a philosophy, even a positive message, and to become the subject of a master, is not yet to be a worshiper. Sometimes we imagine that praise is worship. It is somewhat true, but worship is more than song. The worshiper is the one who loves passionately. There is in him an intense and spiritual fervor ; something of the suitor, of the lover. In fact, the Bible sometimes presents God as someone to fall in love with. The words she uses are reminiscent of a lover's. This explains why to go to other gods is to commit adultery. God the Father becomes in love and the people of Israel his bride. In the New Testament, Jesus, the Son of God, becomes the bridegroom and the church the bride. The apostle Paul uses strong images when he writes to the Christians of Corinth : “I am jealous of you, of the jealousy of God, because I have betrothed you to one spouse to present you to Christ as a pure virgin” (2 Corinthians 11.2). This intense and deep relationship is one aspect of worship. Another facet of worship is the ability to recognize in God the Lord, the Master before whom we bow with respect.
