"May the peace established by Christ govern your decisions. For it is to this peace that God has called you to form one body. Be grateful." Colossians 3.15
We all have emotions and we will always have them.
I believe that one of the main goals of believers should be to be emotionally stable. We should seek God to learn how to manage our emotions and not allow them to let them manage our lives.
Think about this : you go out to buy a particular thing you need. You have also made the commitment with God to get out of your debts. You have made a commitment to pay for your expenses and not buy anything you do not need. But while you're shopping you discover that a store offers a 50% discount on what is already sold. What are you doing ? Do you follow your emotions without thinking or do you expect to calm down before making a decision ?
Do not let your emotions take the lead of your life.
God wants you to make decisions in a spirit of peace. To leave the peace that God gives to direct your decisions often requires waiting for your own emotions to subside and decide if buying this thing is really the right thing to do.
Do not let your emotions take the lead of your life ; only move forward if you have peace.
A prayer for you today
Lord, I choose to let your peace lead the decisions I make. I do not want to make decisions guided by my emotions but I want to peacefully follow the path you have prepared for me.
