Life is just a breath !
Now is the time to seek the Lord. Hosea 10.12
A friend and I were chatting about the passage of time. It seems that the older we get, the more the years go by. The many demands of our time sometimes make us live at 200 miles an hour. We would like so much to extricate ourselves from everyday life to better taste each moment...
God tells us that there is a time for everything and a time for everything under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3: 1). So there is a time to seek it. But do we take this time ? Or do we think there will always be time... someday ? Or are we hiding behind the excuse that we don't have time ? It may also be that the worries of life push us to head forward.
There is a great danger of letting the opportunity pass and finding ourselves before God without having reconciled with him. This is why he gives us this advice : But remember your creator during the days of your youth, before the bad days come and the years draw near when you will say : I take no pleasure in them ; [...] before the spirit returns to God who gave it (Ecclesiastes 12.1 (or 3) and 7 (or 9)).
Let's think about the priorities of our life. Let's stop, listen to God as we read the Bible, and talk to him. He invites us to turn to him, for the visible realities last only a time, but the invisible ones will remain forever (2 Corinthians 4:18).

Proposed reading : Book of the Prophet Isaiah, chapter 55, verses 1 to 7.
55.1 All of you who are thirsty, come to the water, even those who have no money ! Come, buy and eat, come, buy wine and milk without money, without paying anything !
55.2 Why do you spend money on what does not feed ? Why do you work for what does not satisfy ? Listen to me really and you will eat what is good, you will taste delicious dishes.
55.3 Give ear and come to me, so listen and you will live ! I will enter into an eternal covenant with you to assure you of the graces promised to David.
55.4 I made him a witness to the peoples, and a guide and a ruler to them.
55.5 Thou shalt call the nations which thou knowest not ; and the nations which do not know thee shall come to thee for the sake of the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, because he giveth you his splendor.
55.6 Seek the Lord while he is found ! Call on him while he's near !
55.7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to the Lord, he will have compassion on him. May he return to our God, for he forgives abundantly.
