Meditate His Word never to give up

"Happy is the man (...) who does not stop in the way of sinners ... but finds his pleasure in the law of the Lord and meditates on it day and night !" Psalm 1.1-2

Have you ever wanted to stop ? That has happened to me many times. Discouragement gained me and I said to myself : "What good is it to follow you Lord ? What good is it for you ?"

Even if the path seems narrow, keep walking. You will come across your blessing, that's for sure! In the Word of God there are many examples of men and women who have gone through this desire to stop and give up everything. For example Elijah, the great prophet of God. One day, he asked for death, after receiving a letter of accusations from the evil Jezebel (see 1Kings 19: 2-8).

The secret is not to stop, but to continue, to persevere. The angel of God "forced" Elijah to eat and with the strength that he received through this divine food, he walked again. And what a step! 40 days and 40 nights to the mountain of God.

Therefore, do not stop. And especially not on "the way of sinners". Stopping on the path of sinners leads to sadness and makes you unhappy. Even if the path seems narrow, keep walking. You will come across your blessing, that's for sure !

You see, I believe that the continuation of the verse tells us a way to continue walking : find pleasure in the Word of God and meditate on it day and night! What is it to meditate on the Word ? It is letting God print his thought in your heart. It is not reading the text "per kilometer", but rather reflecting on a divine thought or a word of God.

Imagine a chewing gum. You put it in your mouth, then you chew it for a long time. You turn it and turn it in all directions. Of course, the Word of God is much more precious than a chewing gum. But I would like to give you a secret. God keeps His promises. He is faithful to His Word. God is not a man to lie tells us the Bible. (Numbers 23:19)

Choose a verse, iron it on your heart. Proclaim it aloud ! Declare it. Then it will give you hope and trigger the action of God in your life. Talk to the Almighty and say : "This is what your Word says (quote a verse). I believe him. I want to live it. I'll live it because you're not a man to lie. "

An action for today

The desire to abandon you brushes the mind ? Immerse yourself in the Word of God. Choose now a verse that speaks to you especially and train yourself to meditate on it throughout the day: Iron it on your heart, proclaim it and declare it on your life !
