Obedience is a seed

And the Lord said to Abram, Go out of your land, from your land, and out of your father's house, into the land which I will show you. I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you ; I will make your name great, and you will be a source of blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you ; and all the families of the earth will be blessed in you. Abram departed, as Jehovah had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Charan. Genesis 12.1-4

In this passage from Genesis 12, we read that God made Abram a great promise of blessing. God swore to him to give him children and a posterity. He promised to make his descendants a great nation. God pledged to bless the whole world through Abram, but before that, He demanded something from him.

"Sow the seed of obedience..."

God asked Abraham to sow a seed of faith. The first seed that God asked Abraham to sow was obedience when he left his father's house, his family, and all he was used to. Obedience is a seed. If you want to reap the harvest of God's plans in your life, you must sow the seed of obedience.

What does God ask you that you still hesitate to do ? Did He ask you to help a person or a ministry financially ? Did He ask you to go to another city, another region, another country ? Did He make you volunteer in your church ? Did He tell you to start a business or make an investment ?

An action for today

God may be asking you to do something that will completely change your life just like He did for Abraham or so, He may be asking you to do something less demanding! Whatever God's request, do not hesitate, go ahead and obey Him. Sow the seed of obedience and you will reap a harvest of blessings.
