These painful "Why" (1)

"In the multitude of thoughts that were within me thy comforts have delighted my soul." Psalm 94. 19

When the difficulties and trials we reach, personal-ing us or those who are dear, painful "why" ascend in our minds. This is not new. We have many compa-panions of suffering that have spoken before us in the Bible.

The "why" of Rebecca

"And Isaac entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD answered him and Rebekah his wife conceived. The children struggled together within her. " His reaction to this difficult situation: "If it is so, why am I pregnant?" (Gen. 25. 21, 22, NASB). She seems to suffer from the fight of her twins in her womb.

She questions the LORD; He then reveals what he will do two unborn children.

Bring, as Rebecca, our "why" to God. He will teach us of his thoughts.

The "why" of Moses

Moses, and Aaron, his brother, the great and difficult mission to free the Hebrew people from its slavery in Egypt.

The first attempt to Pharaoh is a failure; worse, it aggravates the suffering of the people. Then Moses turned to the Lord and said, "Lord, why have you done evil to this people? Why did you send me? "(Ex. 5. 22).

Immediately God reassures him: "Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh" (6. 1).

Like Moses, we often, in suffering, an incomplete vision of what God wants faire.Israël is now in the desert, guided, fed and protected by God.

However the people complain; he falls in lust and despise the manna of God (Num. 11. 1, 4, 6). Moses, deeply saddened by the state of the people, pronounced before God both "why" that pierce this time of irritation and a focused mindset on himself (v. 11); yes, the task of leading the people is very heavy, but his faith in God's power weakened (v. 22).

God responds to Moses by a question that contains all the response: "Is the hand of Jehovah become short?

Now you will see whether what I said will happen to you or not "(v. 23). When circumstances urge us, let us remember how God has often protected us and deli-Vr. His power does not change!
