"It is, in any case, already a fault on your part, to have lawsuits between you. Why do you not rather bear injustice ? Why do you not rather let yourself be harmed ? But it is you who do injustice and do wrong, and that to brothers ! Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God ?" Read 1 Corinthians 6: 1-11

 
The believers in the city of Corinth had many gifts of grace, from speaking in language to the gift of healing through that of prophecy. They were proud of it ! But this did not prevent them from arguing over matters that were probably material : they had lawsuits between them and asked unbelievers to settle their differences !
The apostle Paul shows them that this way of doing things is unworthy of Christians : has not the Lord conferred on them the dignity of citizens of the kingdom of God ? Then, said the apostle to them, conduct yourself in a manner compatible with this honor.
Paul explains that the behavior of someone shows to which kingdom it belongs. The unjust, the idolaters, the perverts, the homosexuals, etc., are not part of the kingdom of God (v. 10).
I remind you, "he adds," that you, the Christians of Corinth, were one of those formerly before your new birth. But now you are part of the kingdom of God who is not of this world. So, I repeat : do whatever it takes to live in peace. He also declares to them : "You are associated with the Lord, destined to judge the world, and you ask those who are part of it to decide your problems, it is totally incoherent !
You will be associated with the Lord to judge the world and the angels ; Now you ask the world to judge you. This is unworthy of your status ! You are all part of the house of God ; The least thing is to have no quarrels between you ! If necessary, bear injustice, but above all, do not argue with one another ! Do you think that the Lord Jesus, when he was among men, insisted on his rights when they were flouted ?
So when we have a dispute with a brother (or a sister), let us put into practice the teaching of the apostle Paul. The secular judges do not have the opportunity to discern the spiritual dimension of the conflict !
