Precious Gospel

I remind you, brothers and sisters, of the Gospel that I announced to you, that you have received and in which you stand firm. It is also by him that you are saved if you retain him in the terms in which I announced it to you ; otherwise your faith would have been useless. 1 Corinthians 15: 1-2

The Gospel was not given to mankind to do whatever it takes ! Today's verse states that one can believe in vain. In other words, have a faith that does not save ! How ? 'Or' What ? It is enough to believe in something other than the gospel as the apostles exposed it.

This is why Paul was attached to the purity of the message. He knew he had received it from God (Galatians 1:11-12). With the other apostles, he fought the heresies which, unfortunately, appeared very quickly. He denounced the moral laxity in the church and the bad witness of Christians.

The Gospel is a power on condition that it is the true Gospel, that of the first witnesses. It is this saving power by instilling faith in those who hear and believe the good news.

The gospel is precious, both in the beauty of the message of God's love and in its reach in the lives of believers. So, more hearsay gospel, more discount gospel !
