Remain in the security and the confidence

"I lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, give me security in my dwelling." Psalms 4.9

God has promised to be your protector, your defender, your strength, your refuge and many other things ! Even when the storms of life rage against you, as long as you remain in him, you are safe and confident - nothing can take away your peace and joy.

What does it mean to remain in him ? This verb refers in particular to keeping his attention directed towards something. The more your attention is fixed on God, the better you will know and the greater will be your confidence in him.

To remain in him is to keep your heart and mind centered on the Word of God and to confess his promises on your life. It is to raise your voice to worship it and to give it glory and honor. It is also to spend time meditating on his person and to seek his presence in prayer.

Are you facing a difficult situation ? Turn your attention to the Father. Do you need peace and protection ? Attach your heart and mind to it. By dwelling in him, you will witness his goodness and you will live in peace and victory all the days of your life.

A prayer for today

Heavenly Father, thank you for your promise of peace and security in my life. I choose to focus my attention on you. Act in me as you wish, and let all that I do make you glory. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
