Take out God from your "first aid kit"

"Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you ?" 1 Corinthians 3.16

I used to spend time with God from time to time or when I had an emergency. I finally understood that if I wanted to stop living from one emergency to the next, I had to search for it every day as if I desperately needed it.

"If God only wanted a relationship "in case of emergency", He would probably have visited us from time to time..."

It is true that God always comes to our aid when we call on Him. But if we want to walk in a constant victory, we have to take God out of our first aid kit and invite him into our daily lives.

God wants us to become intimate with him. He proved that by coming to live in us. When Jesus died on the cross, He opened us to an intimate relationship with the Almighty God. If God only wanted an "emergency" relationship, He would probably have visited us from time to time, but certainly would not have chosen to make His abode permanent in us.

What a wonderful thought ! God is our personal friend ! Are you going to get him out of your first aid kit today ?

A prayer for today

Lord, I know that the Christian life is much more than a relief plan "in case of emergency". Since you live in me, I want to know you as a personal friend. Instead of calling on you only in case of problems, I want to pick you up every day of my life.
