"Indeed, it is still a vision that concerns a fixed moment, it speaks of the end and will not lie.If it takes a long time, wait for it, because it will be accomplished, it will certainly be accomplished." Habakkuk 2.3
On October 22, 1879, Thomas Edison invented electric lighting. After many unsuccessful attempts (about 10,000), the inventor succeeded in producing light by passing current through a carbon filament in a light bulb. Because a man has had enough of candlelight, today we are benefiting from a major discovery. Perhaps this concept seemed improbable and unachievable for Edison's contemporaries. Yet the concept has been realized. It came to life and today many benefit.
God always does what He says and He does what He promised.
Receiving God's dream for your life and realizing it are two important steps. God Himself tells us in his Word : "I reveal from the beginning what is to happen, and long beforehand what is not yet done. I say : My project will come true and I will put do whatever I want." Isaiah 46.10
God sees and imagines the end result, then he begins to create. When God made you, in his image, he also put in you part of his ability to imagine and create. This ability stimulates the creativity and innovation placed in you by the Almighty God himself.
Only God can help you overcome obstacles, persevere and fulfill that dream. Look at Abraham, the man to whom God said : "I make you father of many nations." (Genesis 17.5) At this point in history, Abraham was 100 years old and his sterile wife Sara was 90 years old. They had waited for the fulfillment of this word for nearly 25 years ...
What's important, when your dream is put on hold, is to focus your attention on God. If he said he would, then he will ! God is faithful ! He is not a liar, a deceiver, a crook. (1 Samuel 15.29) God always does what he says and does what he has promised.
When you doubt it ... pray. Tell the Lord of your doubts, your apprehensions, your fears. Trust him. With patience, wait for his answer. God is sovereign in his way of acting. He does when he wants and how he wants. He knows the right timing. And he will act, that's certain.
An action for today
God has communicated to you his ability to imagine and create. Think of one or two concrete actions you could take today to lay the foundation stone of God's dream for you.
