The GPS navigator

"I rejoiced greatly that I found your children walking in the truth, as we have received the commandment from the Father." 2 John 4

The Global Positioning System, now known as GPS, is the main system for locating us precisely on Earth and guiding us to a destination. This system includes a constellation of 24 satellites (plus some in active reserve) orbiting the earth at an altitude of 22 200 km.

But morally, how to walk in truth, how to avoid false steps and falls ? How to reach your destination in the moral obscurity of this world

To walk in the truth of God is more than to adhere to it and to speak of it; Is to make obedience to the truth a way of life where acts correspond to words. The truth matters ! Reality matters !

For a Christian, to depart from the truth is not only a grave mistake, it is a true disobedience, for we have received from the Father the commandment to walk in truth.

To walk in truth is to walk in the footsteps of Christ. He is "the way, the truth" (John 14: 6). Moral truth is not a human discovery, it is a gift of God ; It is absolute and immutable, fully revealed and recorded in the Bible.

It is the Holy Spirit who guides us and keeps us in the truth : "When he, the Spirit of truth, shall come, he will lead you into all truth" (John 16:13). He is also the one who communicates to us what comes from Christ.

Despite its exceptional performance, a GPS navigator is not 100% reliable. The causes of poor reception are multiple (parasites, magnetic storm due to solar activity, etc.). In addition, it works only from maps that need to be updated frequently to introduce changes to the route. Its use is at the user's own risk and it offers, a priori, neither guarantee nor responsibility in the event of an incident.

The Word of God is "established forever in heaven" (Psalm 119: 89) and applies to all our circumstances. By the Spirit He has given us, God speaks to us by Him and guides us with love. If we listen to his voice and obey his commandments, we will never go astray.
