The lesser evil
Indeed, the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
During 2019, serious concerns began to be raised about the health effects of electronic cigarettes. Professor Couraud, pulmonologist at the CHU de Lyon, declared : "For a smoker, the electronic cigarette remains less bad [than the classic cigarette]" (In October 2019).
Very often we are looking for the lesser evil. And that can be beneficial. We are happy to be able to benefit from a drug that compensates for a lack in the body or which relieves severe pain, despite the side effects to be taken into account. But let's not kid ourselves : evil is still evil.
It is the same with our behavior in everyday life. We like to talk about big sins and small sins, even “cute sins”. Is it not to forget that the little sin is still a sin ?
Now the Bible warns us that, big or small, its consequence is death, eternal separation from God. So, let's not be blinded by the devil who suggests to us that “it's okay” to violate the will of God.
Only one thing is necessary : to recognize our faults and to take hold of the forgiveness offered by God through faith in Jesus Christ. And God will grant us eternal life.
