"A man had two sons ..." Luke 15:11 (read up to 32)

 
What is the title of this text of Luke 15 ? It is often called "the parabola of the prodigal son" ; But it could equally well be called "the parabola of the two brothers" or "the parabola of the two sons". Each one can recognize himself in one brother or the other, sometimes in one or the other, depending on the circumstances.
A father had two sons. The latter had everything to be happy, but they were centered on themselves, neither of them really loved his father.
The youngest dares to ask for his share of inheritance, without waiting for the death of his father ; He goes away and squanders all the money received in the search for pleasures. He soon found himself alone and reduced to misery. Humiliated, repentant, he returns home. What a surprise ! His father, who was watching the horizon every day while waiting for his son, finally saw him. "He ran to him, threw himself on his neck and covered him with kisses" (Luke 15:20). It is the father who throws himself at the neck of the son and not the reverse ; The prayer of the father is answered ! But the best happens at home : the love of the father is manifest, forgiveness is granted and joy invades the family home.
The other son remained wisely at his work. Did he show love for his father during all those years when he remained the only descendant with him ? When he comes home after his day's work, he hears the sound of rejoicing. But instead of being happy to find his younger brother, he is angry. He sees his father go out to meet him but he assaults him : "So many years have I served you, never have I disobeyed your commandments and you have never given me a kid to do Good dear with my friends "(29). In fact he had perhaps shown much indifference towards his father, who, however, had said to him: "All that is mine is yours" (v. 31) What proof of paternal love !
Two different attitudes of the sons, a same love of the father. This parabola could also be called "the parabola of the love of the father" !
