The passionates of Kingdom

"And I do this because of the gospel in order to share in its blessings" (1 Corinthians 9:23).

Living for the gospel is a lifestyle. It starts at the new birth and should continue until death. We are interested and passionate about the Kingdom of God. When I visit churches, I always find passionate people, and others who seem to have no interest in what happens there. I particularly like meeting older people who are passionate about the Lord. I like to see their zeal and hear their stories of miracles. However, others express a surprising contempt for the Kingdom of God. They look like passers-by crossing the church. These kinds of people do nothing for the gospel. They are not interested in people, and do not really make a difference between Christians and others. They enter the church as if they were entering a store. They sit down and follow the program, then they leave.

Others, those who are passionate about the Kingdom, pray for the lost regularly before going to church, and see if there is "a daughter of Abraham" or "a prodigal son." So they pray for this person from their seat, then they try to greet her at the exit, to talk to her, to exhort her, to encourage her in one way or another, hoping that this will favor her conversion.

The passionates do always do something for the gospel. They can not remain passive because their heart is filled with life from which derive deep motivations for the Kingdom. They are in the Kingdom and motivated by it. They seek to manifest this Kingdom, despite their limitations. It takes time, energy, prayers, and so on. They want to be part of the gospel, to experience it. They run a race to obtain souls. They do not run on an adventure, and do not strike in the air. Their goal is clear : to win souls, and that's why they do everything they can for this gospel of glory.
