The Road of Happiness

"Happiness and grace will accompany me every day of my life" Psalm 23: 6

Happiness is not a goal to achieve,

But a path dotted with unexpected, to paint.

Happiness is not a wish fulfilled,

But it is to be filled by what we did not wish.

Happiness is not only to be loved

But it is above all to know how to love.

Happiness is not to possess a fortune,

But it is knowing how to share our little tune.

Happiness is not the absence of storm,

But it is to sing in the midst of storms.

Happiness is not to be sitting near a stream,

But be the water that flows in the hollow of this brook.

Happiness is not a cloudless sky,

But it is to see the sun through the clouds.

Happiness is not an endless summer,

But it is also winter, cold and hunger.

Happiness is not only about laughing and singing,

But it is also to make laugh and enchant.

Happiness is not simply becoming an adult,

But it is to keep a child's heart, in an adult body.

Happiness is not to never weep,

But it's having a shoulder on which to cry.

Happiness is not what has escaped us,

But that's all we picked up.

Happiness is not for an uncertain tomorrow,

But it is the present moment, the one in our hands.

Happiness is not to run after what one does not have,

But it is to be satisfied with all that one has.

The path of happiness is wonderful to follow,

Fear and fear forever delivers us.

Happiness is not at the end of the road,

But happiness is simply the way,

The one where we walk hand in hand.

A prayer for today

Lord, I do not know on what path you are going to lead me, but I beg you that on these roads I can trust you. What makes me happy is that you promised to be with me every day.
