"A cheerful heart is a good remedy, but a dejected spirit dries up the bones." Proverbs 17:22

I think we all need a child in us. Even if we are a balanced adult, we need a child in us who loves to laugh and play. For example Dave, my husband, never had a problem to have a good time. Believe me, he has a little child in great shape in him! But if he knows how to amuse himself, he is also a very responsible man. He always knew how to combine work and play, whereas I felt that I only knew how to work.
The will of God is that you are constantly happy !

It so happened that I could not stand working while the others were playing. And what was sad was that when I finished my work, I tried to make them feel guilty for having had so much fun while I had to work hard. I had not understood anything !

I listened to preaching and read books about joy and being merry in every situation, but it was as if the pressures that made me be effective were too strong. I had to assume a lot of important responsibilities. It always seemed to me that I had too much work to have time to amuse myself.

Nehemiah affirms that the joy of the Lord is our strength. And Jesus wants us to have a superabundant life (John 10:10). When we are in joy, our inner being is strengthened. It is much easier for us to face the difficult or stressful events of our lives when we approach them in a joyful spirit.

The will of God is that you are always happy, even in the midst of difficulties and especially in the midst of difficulties ! He wants you to enjoy your life, your family, your home and your work.

Do you enjoy life ? Do you enjoy it at this very moment ? I noticed that the more I laughed, the better I felt. Do you need to laugh further ? God wants your joy to make you strong !

A prayer for today

Lord, teach me to rejoice at all times, whatever the circumstances. May I enjoy my life and experience your joy even within the tempest. In the name of Jesus, I prayed. Amen.

Joyce Meyer
