The torrent of Kerith !

1 Kings 17.7 - But after a while the torrent was dry, for no rain had fallen in the country.

The prophet Elijah had been sent by God to the torrent of Kerith. There was a drought and a famine in Israel. In this place prepared by God, Elijah could drink and crows brought him food in the morning and in the evening. God was very caring for his servant until the torrent dried up. But God, in his providence, had prepared another place with a widow in Zarephath.

There are seasons in our lives ! There are blessings from Kerith and Zarephath ! Unfortunately, the children of God are often stricken with immobility and they have an unfortunate tendency to sink into a life made up of traditions. They cannot leave their “torrent of Kerith” and are wondering why it has become so dry ! My beloved ones, it is probably time for you to set out for Zarephath, where a new freshness awaits you, a new anointing and full of new graces if your torrent runs dry !

It is always a bad thing to hold on to the blessings of the past. God renews his kindness every morning (Lamentations 3:22 and 23), whether at the torrent of Kerith or at the widow of Zarephath who saw her flour and her oil being replenished each day. When the torrent is exhausted, it's time for you to go! Maybe God is calling you to change your region to clear a new field for yourself (Hosea 10:12), to change your job so that you can continue to assume your responsibilities, or to change your community because the one where you are now can no longer. meet your thirst and your hunger for God !...

It is not a question here of rushing headlong in the wrong direction but of being sensitive to the movement of the Spirit by forgetting what is behind in order to go forward (Philippians 3:13) !
