Wait !

"After patiently waiting, Abraham obtained what was promised him." Hebrews 6: 1

When you pray for a subject, the last thing you want to hear from God is, "Wait !" But sometimes that's what he says. And to walk with him, you must learn to be patient, for he acts according to his plan and not yours.

Waiting produces patience, maturity, discernment and character.

All your supplications will not speed things up. They will only frustrate you. Also, if you always had what you wanted, learning to wait for God, will be like a kind of spiritual detox.

While Abraham was 75 years old, God promised him that he would make him "the father of a multitude of nations" (Genesis 17: 4). But he had to wait 24 years before seeing this promise fulfilled.

The wait does not describe the time spent trying to get what you want. It produces patience, maturity, discernment and character. What God accomplishes in you, while you wait, is often more important than the object of your expectation.

"You have need of perseverance, that after you have fulfilled the will of God, you will obtain what is promised you" (Hebrews 10:36).

That said, waiting is not an excuse to flee reality or your responsibilities, and do nothing as it should. So if you are in debt to your neck for having spent too much, do not wait for God to send you a check. Learn to control yourself, pay tithing, make a budget and buy nothing before you can pay for it.

Above all, to wait is to make the decision to trust and obey God when things do not go as planned. It means : "Lord, I count on you and I have no other plan".
