You are the salt of the earth

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its flavor, with what will it be returned to him ? He is no more than to be cast out and trampled on by men." Matthew 5:13

Jesus said that the Church is supposed to be the salt of the earth. Salt is a preservative.

The church has many roles to fill on this Earth. Above all, she is supposed to reach and win "those who do not know God". It must continually be built, grow and strengthen with time.

The Church must grow in the light and knowledge of God's will, in His ways, His power as well as in His abilities and talents.

All these steps will be taken through the ministry of the Word and people chosen by God to lead His people. These people have the mission to be "salt shakers" that shake people and preserve them.

Our work, as an accomplished church, is to be the salt of society.

A prayer for today

Church leaders need you to pray for them to continue to make sure the body of Christ makes a difference in the world. Pray, for your leaders according to 1 Timothy 2: 1-4 : "I therefore urge, before all things, to make prayers, supplications, petitions, thanksgiving, for all men, for kings and for all those who are lifted up in dignity so that we may lead a peaceful and peaceful life, with all piety and honesty. This is good and pleasing to God our Savior who wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."
