"Do not let Satan take advantage of us" 2 Corinthians 2.11

You will always be tempted in your areas of weakness.
Submit yourselves to God ; Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Then : 1) get ready. Otherwise you will not be ready when the time comes. Where does temptation come from ? From your thoughts ! Each defeat manifested by your conduct was first a battle lost by your mind. Paul writes, "Do not let Satan take advantage of us."

2) Anticipate the shock. Ask God to help you detect the arrival of Satan, and tie your belt. In a room of a castle in Germany is a wall stained with ink. Martin Luther was plunged into prayer when he suddenly realized the presence of the enemy. It is said that he seized an inkwell to throw him violently against the wall, in the direction of the devil. Luther had felt the adversary approach and responded as best he could. Certainly, it's a little exaggerated, but do you have that kind of spiritual sensitivity ?

3) subdue yourself to God, then return the devil, otherwise he will defeat you. "Submit yourselves to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4.7. Satan wants you to do the opposite. Do not fall into his trap ! If today you are struggling against temptation, press on this promise : "The high priest we have is able to suffer with us from our weaknesses. Indeed, like us, he was tempted in all things, but Let us approach with confidence the powerful God who loves us, and we will receive forgiveness, we will find his love, and so he will help us at the right time. "Hebrews 4: 15-16.

An encouragement for today

God will give you the grace needed to overcome temptation.
