You will not miss anything !

"The LORD is my shepherd, I will not miss anything." Psalm 23.1

How vital and important it is to remember that God will leave us wanting, while we trust him.

Several verses of the Scripture corroborate this wonderful promise, here are some of them : "I was young, I grew old, and I did not see the righteous left, nor his seed begging for his bread" (Psalm 37.25). "My God will provide for all your needs" (Philippians 4:19).

"Let's never forget that if the project comes from God, God will have the necessary resources."

In the sermon on the mountain, Jesus invites us not to worry about material needs ; his speech ends with this promise : "All these things (food, clothing, etc.) will be given to you" (Matthew 6.25 / 34). It reminds us where our priorities should be.

As you are gripped by anguish and your resources are limited, remember the situation in which the disciples met when Jesus asked them to feed a crowd of five thousand men (Mark 6.35 / 44). They feel so overwhelmed by the immensity of need that they see only one solution : "Send them back," they say.

In relation to our own needs, or for the projects of God, sometimes we face financial challenges that are so much beyond us that we see no other solution than escape, recession, abandonment. In these situations, let us never forget that if the project comes from God, God will have the necessary resources.

The disciples measure all the limits that are theirs : "There are only five barley loaves and two fishes, but what are they for so many ?" (John 6: 9) It is on the basis of what they have, and bring to the Lord, that God will provide for the needs of all. In offering what he had, this young man blessed a multitude, and lacked nothing.

God never asks us more than what we have. Some say : "If I were rich, I will give this or that." But, that's what we can offer, without putting our lives at risk, that the Lord is waiting for. On this basis, he is committed to not let us miss anything.

After having sent his disciples, Jesus asks them : "When I sent you without purse, without sack... did you miss something ?" They answered : "You are nothing" (Luke 22.35).

An encouragement for today

As you have entered into God's plans for you, trust him, he will not let you miss anything.
