What does the Bible tell us about hope ? What should we hope for and why ?

Hope is generally defined as "a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen". People hope for many things that are unrelated to God, such as a relationship, a career promotion, or even winning the lottery. However, the Bible's hope of trusting God to deliver us from sin and death transcends the worldly hope that many have today.

Romans 15:4

"Now everything that has been written in advance has been written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and through the comfort of the scriptures we may have hope."

Romans 15:13

Isaiah 40:31
